In order to have the most peaceful and affective experience with Yoga Popular, please keep in mind the following suggestions before attending class:
- Come at least 5-15 minutes early. This is especially important on the first day as you may need to take extra time becoming situated in the classroom.
- Dress comfortably in clothing made out of stretch material so that your shirt or pants don't go flying over your head in inversions!
- Bring a towel and/or a non-slip yoga mat. For days when we are in the grass, a towel works best. But if the grass is dewy, we'll be on the concrete and a yoga mat would be most comfortable.
- If you are new to yoga or have a tight body/injury, you may benefit from bringing along yoga blocks, a yoga band, a cushion to sit on, and a blanket to fold up beneath your body. These are not necessary but recommended for those who may need them.
- Do not eat a big meal before practice. If you do, eat at least two hours before class. If you need a light snack, that is absolutely fine.
- It is not recommended to drink a lot of water during class, but if you body is asking for it, a few sips are okay. Just remember- the emptier the stomach, the better in yoga.
- Do not wear strong perfumes or deodorants, bulky jewlery or watches.
I hope to see you at the farmer's market! Classes will be suitable for Level 1 - Level 2 practitioners.
